Watch Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd in the Death Of A Unicorn trailer
The A24 Death Of A Unicorn trailer has dropped and features Wednesday star Jenna Ortega and Hollywood Walk of Fame actor Paul Rudd as a father-daughter duo in a dark comedy.
While traveling to a weekend getaway hosted by his boss who is a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO, Elliot (Rudd) unintentionally strikes and kills a unicorn as seen in the Death Of A Unicorn trailer. Elliot’s boss tries to take advantage of the unicorn’s amazing healing abilities after learning that Elliot and his daughter Ridley (Ortega) are concealing a legendary creature in his vehicle. Yet the unicorn doesn’t appear to be the kind of elegant and affectionate animal that people have portrayed them as.
“I think we know exactly what it is,” says Ridley. “It’s a f-ing unicorn. Dad, please just listen to me. We need to give the little one back, ok? Bad things will happen.”
The cast also includes Anthony Carrigan, Téa Leoni, and Will Poulter in addition to Grant, Rudd, and Ortega. Writer and director Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin, Theresa Steele Page, Tim Headington, Tyler Campellone, Drew Houpt, and Lars Knudsen are among the producers. Ortega, Rudd, and Ari Aster are among the executive producers.
John Carpenter, the composer of the Halloween movie soundtrack, his son Cody Carpenter, and longtime collaborator Daniel Davies, created the score for the film.
Ortega will return for the second season of the Netflix series Wednesday, which debuts in 2025. Her recent features include Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Miller’s Girl and Scream VI.
Rudd recently appeared in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as well as the series Only Murders in the Building.
